Our biggest turnout to date resulted in a terrific match played in good spirits. The Blues took an early lead, but found themselves 2-1 down at the break.

Having regrouped at halftime, the Blues stormed back to lead 4-2, before Ollie scored what turned out to be a consolation goal for the Reds. He had a chance to make it 4-4 from the penalty spot, but his shot was well saved by Jack, who was making his Lydford debut.

A number of players stood out, but it was Ashley who walked away with the player of the day award, after a tremendous defensive performance and some great forward runs.

Special mentions to Harvey for some great finishing during training; Oscar and Paul who starred in defence; Shea for his usual ‘midfield dynamo’ performance; and Tobin, who was never afraid to get stuck in and look for opportunities.

Great work, lads.

Same time next week: 10am Saturday morning.

Don’t forget to bring your water bottles and a halftime snack. Ideally, please wear shorts/tracksuit bottoms, rather than jeans.
