We managed to get an entire session and a 50-minute match completed before the forecast rain arrived in Lydford. The reward for everyone’s effort was a tremendous game of football.

A big welcome to Nathan who was a first-time player, plus Hugh would joined Ross in taking on goalkeeping duties.

Reds: Ross, Chris, Ollie, Shea, OJ, Paul, Oscar, Louis, Nathan
Blues: Hugh, Asa, James, Ernie, Corey, Tobin, Aaron, Jack, Harvey

The defending and positioning training is beginning to pay off, with a first half that produced just one goal, with the Blues heading in to the break in front thanks to a well taken goal by the ever-impressive Jack.

The Reds hit back after the break and appeared to be cruising to a 3-2 win, before Asa buried the ball in the top corner with the last kick of the game, after the referee missed a blatant foul on Ollie on the sideline. Should have gone to Specsavers!

Once again, we finished penalties, which was won by the Reds 2-1.

Player of the match for the Reds was Nathan, while Corey scooped the award for the Blues. Special mention to James for another deeply impressive defensive display.

Another terrific session, which ended with the news that the new goals are being ordered today, hopefully arriving before next Saturday’s session. Maybe a 5-aside tournament is on the cards…

See you next weekend.
